Man shot dead in Tom Brown Village, Birmingham (age 31)

A 31-year-old man identified as Brandon Wilson was fatally shot in Birmingham’s Tom Brown Village housing community. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday in the 500 block of 41st Street North. Upon arrival, South Precinct officers discovered Wilson wounded at the intersection of 41st Street and 5th Court North. He was subsequently transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing, and as of now, no one is in custody. The shooting marks Wilson as Birmingham’s 59th homicide of 2024. Five of these homicides have been deemed justifiable and excluded from the criminal count. In total, there have been 82 homicides across Jefferson County, with 59 of them occurring in Birmingham.
