Haley inscribed ‘Finish Them!’ on an Israeli shell, facing criticism.

In a visit to Israel, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley wrote the message “Finish Them!” on an Israeli artillery shell during a tour of an artillery station along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon. The visit was part of a trip in which Haley met with families affected by the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that resulted in over 1,200 deaths and 253 hostages.

Haley’s message echoed in an interview with Israel Hayom newspaper, where she expressed the need to “finish them — once and for all,” referring to Hamas. The visit occurred amidst criticism of Israeli leaders for not adequately protecting civilians in Gaza and potential war crimes during the war against Hamas.

The images of Haley writing on the artillery shell received criticism from Amnesty International USA and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, with the latter condemning her for writing a “violent message” following an Israeli airstrike on a Palestinian tent camp that resulted in at least 45 deaths.

Throughout her career, Haley has been a strong supporter of Israel, often speaking out in defense of the country. In the past, she has criticized the United Nations for bullying Israel and defended Israel during critical United Nations meetings. Haley continues to support Israel in her latest visit, stating that “Israel must do whatever is necessary to protect her people from evil.”
