Boy died, sister hurt in Bellevue park shooting.

In Nashville, Tennessee, a 15-year-old suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at Red Caboose Park on Wednesday evening. The suspect allegedly fatally shot a 13-year-old boy and injured his 16-year-old sister. The incident is believed to have stemmed from a fight between females in a parking lot, which escalated when other teens joined in. The 16-year-old girl managed to reach the nearby Nashville Fire Department station, while her brother sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron described the incident as a “bad night for Nashville” and expressed concern that the majority of the individuals involved appear to be middle school students. The suspect was apprehended by police officers shortly after the incident, and a gun was found by an ATF dog near the path the suspect was walking.

The 15-year-old suspect has been charged with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide. Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell expressed condolences for the affected families and praised the quick response of first responders and police officers. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are interviewing witnesses who saw the shooting.
